How to Properly Clean Your Bathroom with Natural Products
Keeping your bathroom clean and tidy is one of the biggest challenges of maintaining a clean household. Dirt and dust accumulates more quickly in the washroom than in any other room, and a dirty bathroom is one of the last things you want in your household. That said, there are a variety of heavy duty cleaning products in the market to help, but these products often contain harmful agents that can cause a variety of allergic reactions. There are several natural cleaning products we recommend you can use to remove the dirt in your bathroom. These include white vinegar, baking soda, and distilled water. These natural cleaning products will help you tackle dirt and make your bathroom sparkling.
When cleaning your bathroom, you’re going to need the necessary tools to complete your deep bathroom cleaning. First and foremost, you’ll need to invest into microfiber clothes. These are the recommended cleaning tools we use to clean hundreds of homes every year. Microfiber cloths leave behind zero fibers, and are easily reusable. You can find microfiber cloths at your local cleaning supplier or retail store.
How to Clean Bathroom Tiles and Flooring
Bathrooms are the among the most difficult rooms to clean and are a high risk factor for grout. Because of the high levels of moisture that come from taking showers and baths, bathroom floors often go on to develop grout. Although many peoples’ first thought is to use bleach to disinfect and clean their floors, bleach is often too harsh and not necessary for cleaning purposes. To clean bathroom floors naturally, grab a microfiber cloth, scouring powder, and a bucket of distilled water.
In order to make an effective, natural cleaning mixture, mix approximately 80 grams of scouring powder, and 60mL of distilled water. This mixture will create a cleaning paste that can be used to remove any bathroom floor stains you encounter. We recommend using a cleaning brush to thoroughly and deeply brush the paste deeply into your floor, but if you have an old toothbrush laying around, that works too.
How to Unclog Drains and Sinks
In many cases, a blocked drain or sink may require the services of a plumber to resolve, but there is a natural mixture that can be used to keep a partially clogged drain clear and free. We recommend creating a natural cleaning mixture using baking soda, vinegar and boiling water. You’ll also a plumber to help resolve the blocked drain. Firstly, boil some hot water, and then pour it down the clogged drain. Next, add baking soda, and leave it to settle for a few minutes. Then pour some white vinegar, and some additional boiling water into the drain. Plug the drain to contain the reaction between the baking soda and vinegar for 10 minutes. Then use some more boiling water to clean off the residue of the reaction. If the drain has cleared, then you’re good to go. If the drain is still clogged, use the plunger to clear out the drain.
How to clean a shower, bathroom, and sink
With consistent bath use, soap scum is almost guaranteed to develop. In order to tackle and resolve soap scum, we recommend using a combination of vinegar, baking soda, and water. As discussed above, this natural mixture will create a cleaning paste that can be used to scrub away the soap scum. For the tougher areas of soap scum, apply the natural cleaning paste, and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. The acid in the vinegar will break down the soap scum and make it easier to remove. Then use your cleaning crush to clean off the bath.
How to clean your Toilet
It might be surprising to hear, but toilets need regular cleaning. We recommend a biweekly cleaning at the minimum to keep your toilet clean and hygienic. To effectively clean your toilet, start off by pouring a cup of white vinegar into the toilet boil and leave it to work for 30 minutes. After half an hour, sprinkle scouring powder onto a scrubbing brush, and then scrub the inside of the toilet bowl. If any areas are initially difficult to clean, sprinkle some additional scouring powder onto the difficult areas, and continue to scrub. Once you’re done cleaning, flush the bowl, and your toilet will be sparking clean!
How to clean your mirror using natural products?
Bathroom mirrors accumulate lots of grime and dirt, and cleaning a mirror without proper cleaning products can lead to streaks and residue. In order to avoid this, and to ensure a sparkling mirror, we recommend mixing a 50% vinegar and 50% water solution and utilizing this solution to clean your mirror. Use the solution with a microfiber cloth to wipe down the mirror and remove any dirt and residue. Avoid using any regular cloth because most clothes will leave behind lint and residue. A microfiber cloth however, will leave no residue, and is highly reusable.
