Clean your home one room at a time.
We have all been there. It’s Sunday morning and your house is a mess. Cleaning your home seems like a mountain you can’t climb. The longer you wait the harder is seems and the messier it gets. And so starts the battle of will power and perseverance. OK fine, it isn’t as dramatic as that, but you get the idea.
The best way to tackle any large problem is to break it down into smaller, more attainable tasks. This is the best way to clean your home. Instead of putting your energy into everything at once, consider cleaning one room at a time. Start by making a list of the rooms and ordering them my most to least utilized. The kitchen for example is the center of most people’s homes. You use it multiple times a day, everyday. Wash your dishes, clean the counter tops, polish your fridge and appliances and get this room out of the way first.
Put things back in the same place.
One way to make time to clean on a busy schedule is to stay and live organized. Whether you live in a small condo or a large house, always putting things back in the same place will help you stay organized and never lose your belongings. This process can also be applied to clean-living, room by room. Instead of running to the garbage bin in the kitchen every time you find something to dispose of, consider placing small bins in the most utilized rooms of your house. This will help you stay organized, clean and save you time running back and forth.
When cleaning the rooms individually consider using a disposable bag, piling up all the waste in the room and then disposing of it all in one go after you are done cleaning your home.
Keeping your home clean everyday.
Tasks get harder to do the more you put them off. Instead of having one day a week designated to deep cleaning, begin to create habits to live clean on a daily basis. This way your home will stay clean and you will continuously tackle smaller tasks instead of larger ones that are daunting to look at. Spending just 30 minutes a day cleaning everyday can have your entire home looking clean all the time.
Keep cleaning supplies in places that are easy to reach.
People’s lives are busy. You have work, family and kids to take care of. We understand the daily struggles of living in today's world. Make your life easier by placing your cleaning products all in the same place. Organized them properly and always store them in one place. This way once it is time to clean you will not be wasting time looking for supplies. It sounds like a no brainer, but you would be surprised how much time you can save by doing so. Life gets complicated and the last thing you want to do is spend 20 minutes looking for cleaning supplies when you only have an hour to clean for the week.
Divide up the work.
Whether you live with a spouse, roommates or children, you should consider delegating chores to everyone on a weekly basis. Start by creating a chores chart with a list of weekly chores. Assign them to each person in the household, to be completed by the end of the week. Make sure to rotate the dirtier chores, like dishes and bathroom cleaning every week to keep everyone engaged and regularly completing the tasks. This will create a household that loves to live clean and works together to make it happen. Even our children can help.
