Lazy Tip #1: Line Your Kitchen
Fridge spills, food prep spills add up and make your kitchen look and feel dirty. How many times have you tried grabbing an evening snack from the fridge only to spill some of it all over the shelves. This adds to your long list of cleaning chores to do for the week and makes the whole task feel even harder than it already is. Here is a life hack to keep your fringe shelves spill and stain free.
Instead of letting your shelves stain, to be cleaned at another time, consider lining the with plastic wrap or aluminium foil. This way, if you do have a spill, you can leave it be and simply remove the wrap at the end of the week. Think about it? Sure it doesn't beat a thorough kitchen or home cleaning and doesn’t look the prettiest, but at the end of the day it works with minimal effort.
You apply this simple trick to your storage shelves as well. Neatly line them with plastic wrap and store your condiments and snacks on top. Switch out the plastic wrap once every 2 weeks and enjoy having a clean kitchen shelves all the time.
Lazy Tip #2: The Dishwasher can do more than advertised.
Most dishwashers can wash more than just your dishes. Use your dishwasher to wash plastic toys, containers, tools and cutting boards and have them looking just like new in no time. But please, for safety reasons, make sure to read the manual and do some research before burning the house down. This is generally a safe tip to follow but it is important to mention that results may vary. Make sure you know your dishwasher inside and out and start utilizing this tip to get the most out of your machine. Pour two cups of clean water and two to three tablespoons of vinegar into a microwave safe dish.
Turn your microwave on and power it to high heat for about three minutes. This will loosen all the hardened spills and debris and make rinsing it much easier. Much, much easier.
Once the timer hits three minutes, remove the dish from the microwave and rinse with a paper towel in under a minute.
